Geographic coordinates in a QR

  1. Enter latitude (−90 to 90) and longitude (−180 to 180) in decimal degrees.
  2. Optionally add a short label for context.
  3. Generate, test the scan path, then export for signage.

Example format: -0.1807, -78.4678 (Quito). Paste coordinates from a mapping tool if you already have them — QRburst does not fetch locations for you.

geo: URIs vs Google Maps deep links

This tool encodes a geo: URI with your coordinates. That is a location pointer, not a guaranteed Google Maps deep link. Some camera apps open Maps or Apple Maps; others show a chooser or do nothing if no handler is installed. If you need a specific Maps URL, encode that URL as a website QR instead. For a geo: code, verify the scan path on the phones your visitors actually use before a storefront install.

Signage, distance, and venues

Wayfinding posters and outdoor signs fail when modules are too small for the scan distance. Use QR code size and printing guidance, keep high contrast, and prefer Print Studio sizing. Frequently asked questions

Does QRburst look up addresses on a map?
No. You enter latitude and longitude directly. There is no geocoding or map-provider API in this tool.
What happens when someone scans the QR?
Compatible apps open a geo: URI. Exact map or navigation behavior depends on the device and installed apps — always test on the phones your audience uses.
Where do I get GPS coordinates?
Copy decimal degrees from a mapping app or GIS tool (latitude −90 to 90, longitude −180 to 180). Paste each value into its field. QRburst does not convert street addresses for you.
How large should a location QR be outdoors?
Outdoor and aisle scans need more physical width than a hand-held card. Start from Print Studio presets, then raise size for distance and dense payloads. See the QR code size guide for distance-based starting points.
